Sanctuary Upkeep and Maintenance

The park has approx. 45,000 sq/m of lawn that requires mowing on a weekly basis, although it would be far more efficient to use a ride on lawnmower, unfortunately we use a normal garden lawnmower.
The cost of consumables and fuels to keep the enclosures and grounds neat and tidy, i.e., mowing lawns, brush cutting enclosures, pool and water feature chemicals.

Swimming Pools and Water Features

In Summer we utilise 100Kgs of HTH and winter Approx. half, therefore on average approx. 75Kg / month. @ R 1240.00 per 25Kgs = R 3,720.00 per month.

Brush fittings / testing kits / other chemicals

@ R 1,000 per month.

Mowing and Brush Cutters

Fuel @ approx. 100L /month @ R 2600 p/month.
Brush Cutter gut @ R 300 p/month.
Two Stroke Oil Approx. R 400 /month.

Total for Upkeep and Maintenance

Approximately R 80,000 per month.

Waterberg Wildlife Sanctuary is situated 25 km from Vaalwater, a small town in the Limpopo Province.
